Description

The GYDCG-UBCH1 multifunctional DC insulation monitor measures the insulation resistance between the positive and negative poles and ground in 100~1000VDC floating DC systems. In the same module it also measures charging pile voltage and, as options, vehicle-side DC voltage and shunt voltage. It is built for EV charging pile insulation monitoring and also suits photovoltaic systems, energy storage systems and DC power grids.

GYDCG-UBCH1 DC Insulation Monitor features insulation monitoring start/stop control. When insulation monitoring is enabled, it can monitor the insulation resistance between the positive/negative poles and ground in real time. The monitoring results are not affected by DC voltage fluctuations or the symmetry of positive and negative insulation resistance.

How does the UBCH1 protect a charging pile?

A charging circuit is a floating DC system: neither pole is deliberately connected to earth. A first insulation fault, for example from moisture, connector wear or cable damage, does not trip a breaker, so it can stay hidden while charging continues. The UBCH1 measures the positive-to-ground and negative-to-ground insulation separately and reports the values over RS485, so the charging controller can act before a second fault turns into a short circuit.
